IN-CHARACTER & BENDING RULES
- 1. Separate accounts.
There are no limits on how many characters you can have on the site. However for every one you plan to make you must have a separate registered account.- 2. Leadership limitations.
There are unique positions on the site for nation leaders and the Avatar themself, such as the Fire Lord, Earth King or Queen, Tribal Chief, Council of Elders and the Avatar, to name the most well known ones. Each member may only have one of these positions. This means you cannot be the Avatar as well as a Fire Lord, or a Council member in the Air Nomad society and a Tribal Chief of the Southern Water Tribe. A few exceptions may be made if the plot calls for it, but those will be few and far between.- 3. Consequence of actions.
Basically every action you do in the roleplay may have a consequence, whether good or bad. If your nation is at war with another nation and you decide to just walk up to that nation's leader's room because you feel you can get away with it due to the no-DE rule, then your position may become death enabled as you are in enemy territory on your own. In addition, some actions may have a consequence that could affect an entire nation as a whole which could spark an international incident. Basically, be careful with your random plots. They may seem fun at first until you find out you're the reason why your country is at war.- 4. Death Enabled threads.
The site is not Death Enabled. What this means is that you are free to ICly without fear of having a random character pop into your thread and chop your head off. However Death Enabled (DE) threads are allowed on the site. When you wish to do a DE thread, simply put [DE] within the thread title. Members are expected to settle on any rules and limits regarding posting before the thread gets under way.- 5. Bender, Non-Bender. Master, Non-Master.
This is more of a guideline than a rule. It often kills a site when everyone is making bending masters and everyone does the same stuff. Try to be original with your ideas. No Gary Sues or Mary Sues. We must face the fact that not everyone is the best in the world.- 6. Spirit touched humans.
Characters whom were close to death but were saved by a spirit giving them their energies. We call them "Yue"s, and while this is fine when it's done in rare cases, I don't want to see a bunch of these running around. This goes hand in hand with rule 5, and if it becomes a problem i'll just outright ban it.- 7. Bloodbending.
Bloodbending is reserved for full moon occurances only. There are no "special blood" waterbenders who have the strongest line of bloodbending ever and can bloodbend outside of a full moon.- 8. Combustionbending.
Normally this is an ability a firebender is born with, and cannot be learned according to information from the canon. However on here, one is not born with this ability. It is a master level bending technique that firebenders can learn once certain circumstances have been met.- 9. Reserving positions.
No one can reserve spots on this site. The site acts on a first come first serve basis, meaning if you start and finish your app and have it approved before anyone else, then you get the spot. However in the event two apps are finished at the same time and require a grading, staff will look at both carefully and then collectively choose the best app.- 10. Liquid Time.
Liquid time, for those who don't know, is basically being in two different threads "at the same time". The threads OOCly will be happening at the same time, but the time ICly will be different. For example, you can have one thread in the fire nation take place during the morning, and then have a 2nd thread at the same time take place at the edge of the earth kingdom that takes place during the evening of the same day ICly.- 11. Character names.
The name of your character must be from south to south-east Asian descent. Some exceptions will be made here and there. Mainly, I don't want to see western names or names of European descent.- 12. Post Skipping.
If not already discussed before hand, when it comes to threads with multiple (3 or more) people, if the thread is being held up by a single character not posting then members may be allowed to skip that person in the thread to continue with the story. If an individual has not posted for 5 days without giving prior notice for their absence, then he or she may be skipped. In regards to DE threads, if the terms of the thread have not been made beforehand or post skipping is not mentioned within them, even if it is a 2 person thread, a person may be skipped if they have not posted within 5 days of their last post. A staff may intervene in these cases depending on the circumstances.
